Team Point Ranking
Team Competitions
So, I can see where being on a Team is convenient, but isn't there anything that makes for a way to form unity and friendship with other members? |
|
|
The "Team Point Ranking" is a sort of competition that takes place within Teams. All members contribute to the total number of points that a Team has, which in turn determines its rank. |
Just like name implies, then. But does the Team just end up with a rank, and that's it? That sounds kind of boring. |
|
|
There is more to it than that. Earned points can be spent in order to get your Team some special privileges. Depending on your rank, your Team can be awarded bonus points on top of that, so that is an incentive to try to do well for your Team! |
So with everyone working together, you get a sort of collateral for other fun things, and even if your rank drops, the points you've earned are still useful for those things! |
|
|
The Top 20 ranked Teams and their points can be viewed by going to the Information Counter. |
|
Go to the Info Counter to purchase privileges such as the Team Flag. |
|
So then, in order for my Team to reach the top, I need all of my members to start putting in the effort to earn points. But how do you get points, anyway? |
|
|
He's already shooting for number one? |
Points are earned by registering special weapons that members find while adventuring. |
|
|
Special weapons? |
|
|
They say that, sometimes, when you are on an adventure, you can come across items that cannot be purchased in shops. |
Special Weapons |
Special weapons are very rare items that can be found from defeating ene mies and the like.
Special weapons have many different attributes and are worth different point values. If you're lucky enough to find one, bring it to the Tekker in the City to find out what it is. (Some items do not need to be identified.) |
|
←
From the Main Menu, select Team > Register Points. By selecting a special weapon from your inventory list, you will lose the weapon, but in exchange, a number of points will be added to your Team's score. |
It's such a waste to have to give up something so valuable. |
|
|
But it's for the good of the Team! Didn't he just get through telling us that by scoring enough points to get a high rank, you can get bonus points, too? |
|
Rankings are calculated and finalized at set intervals. Based on the rankings at tabulation, bonus points are awarded. |
Well, I guess bonuses are kind of nice, too, but... Well, no use dwelling on it. I'll think about it again once I find something. |
|
Bonus Points
Bonus points are awarded based on rank, as per this list below:

You mentioned earlier that you can use those to buy things, right? |
|
|
The Master is able to spend these points in exchange for getting special Team privileges. |
Ah, this is me, again, then. It's good to be the Master! So, how much does my Team have to spend? |
|

Try checking the Team Info screen? |

Special Team Privileges
Overview of Team Privileges
Here is a look at what kind of special privileges can be purchased with Team Points.
Masters should have a firm idea in mind, and take member requests and needs into account when purchasing new privileges.
At the Information Counter, under go under Team>Master Menu>Buy Privileges to display the list of privileges. (Those displayed in white are available for purchase.)
To check on your Team's privileges, look under Main Menu>Team>Team Info>Earned Privileges List.
Member Limit Expansion
When a Team is first founded, it is limited to 10 members with 2 Leaders. By purchasing a "Member Limit Expansion," these restrictions can be increased.
As the number of Leaders increases, it will be easier to invite more people to join the Team; which in turn makes it easier to earn points.
Member Limit 20 |
20 Members with 3 Leaders |
Member Limit 40 |
40 Members with 5 Leaders |
Member Limit 70 |
70 Members with 8 Leaders |
Member Limit 100 |
100 Members with 10 Leaders |
|
|
There is no way to bring the Team member limit down once it has been expanded!
Team Flag
A 32x32 pixel graphic will display
next to the character's name.
The Team Flag is a privilege that can be purchased. This is a special icon that will be displayed to the left side of members' names while in the Visual Lobby. The flag can be freely designed.
The Team Flag will serve as a means of identifying fellow Team members in the Visual Lobby, and hopefully add a sense of Team solidarity!
Updating the Image
After purchasing the Team Flag privilege, the image that is set by default is the PSO BB logo. This can then be customized into a different image of your own design.
Create a bitmap (.bmp) image file named flag.bmp. This will be used for the graphic data of your Team Flag.
The Master needs to save the flag.bmp file into the /teamflag directory under his or her PSO BB install directory.
At the Information Counter, the Master then selects Team>Master Menu>Register Team Flag.
The image will automatically be resized to 32x32 pixels upon upload.
Image data portions that are set to R0,G0,B0 (black) will show up as transparent.
Please do not use images that infringe upon copyrights, trademarks, or personal likenesses, or use any image that may offend other players.
Dressing Room
The Dressing Room allows characters to change their appearance using much the same method that is employed at the time of character creation.
This can be good for coordinating your outfits to match with certain weapons or Mags, or to create matching uniforms with your friends and group members.
While in the dressing room, only the character's Hair (Head for Androids) and Costume (Body for Androids) can be modified. Just like at Character Creation, select which number setting you would like to change to.
More Team privileges will be added later!
