DNA Article Contest

Disclaimer: We may find it necessary to either change or update the rules, and we might do so while the contest is in progress

The article contest will end 31st of December, and the winners will be announced within the following week.

Write one or more articles covering one or more of the following:
 # General programming in KOS (1.1.7 or newer)
 # General programming in KGL (might also add the use of KGL-X)
 # The theories needed to know to utilize KGL/OpenGL
 # Alternative guides to setting up the toolkits (alternatives to the ones we already have) for either Linux or Windows
 # Technical notes/specs on specific Dreamcast hardware (*1)
 # Any other useful and unreleased article/tutorial covering information needed by Dreamcast Developers

The articles have to follow these rules:
 # They should have a title that describes specifically what the article is about (ie. no "The DC-dev tutorial"-names)
 # Articles should be written for people with next to none experience in the subject (*2)
 # Each article have to be at least one page with text at 12point size (without the pictures)
 # Additional graphics can be used, but will not count in the article size. They can, however enhance the quality of the article.
 # All articles have to be previously unreleased (*1)
 # All articles should be delivered to us in a pure .txt format, with additional graphics as attachments (remember to put
notes in the article where each picture should be placed).

How we will be judging:
Every participant can contribute more than one article. Each time an article is submitted, it is reviewed and given a
certain "score". Each participant can then contribute more articles to add to his score. Contributing multiple, poorly
written articles may make us have to give you penalties though, hence withdrawing points from your score. The scores
will be kept private; it will only be known by the judges and the participant, who will (a few days after his contribution)
get an e-mail with his current score. Each article can get from 1-5 points.

Ways to earn extra points:
 # Translate either your own article, or one of the articles currently at our "resources" page into another language .2 points
 # Send us your own article(s) in .pdf-format (Adobe Acrobat Reader)  1 point
 # Write non-dc specific programming tutorials (Assembly/C/C++)  2 points

Where to send:
You can send your submissions here. DO NOT alter the mail subject though, as it can result in your submission getting lost.
If you have multiple articles to submit, please send each in seperate e-mails. You do not have to send all articles at the same
time. In fact, we encourage you to send them to us as soon as you are done with them! All e-mails sent after 31st of December
will not count towards your score.

*1 If it has been released before, you need to add at least one full page (12 points) of additional comments/explanations. You also have to get
the original authors  permission, and you have to prove that by making the author e-mail us.
*2 If the article covers advanced programming, then disregard this paragraph. Just dont go crazy on the tech-talk.
